App Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Detox Your Dome mobile app (the "App"), operated by Detox Your Dome LLC ("Detox Your Dome," "we," "us"). Purchases from our online store are governed by our separate Store Terms of Service at detoxyourdome.com/policies/terms-of-service.

1. What Detox Your Dome is

Detox Your Dome is a regulatory data platform. We show factual information from named regulatory bodies, including the EU Cosmetics Regulation, US FDA, Health Canada, California Proposition 65, EU REACH, IARC, IFRA, and Japan MHLW, to help you understand what is in the products you use.

We are a data aggregator, not an opinion engine. When the App shows that an ingredient is "restricted" or "listed," it reports how a specific regulatory authority has classified it. That is a factual report of a government classification, not a statement that any ingredient is unsafe, harmful, or dangerous to any individual.

2. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy (detoxyourdome.com/pages/app-privacy). If you do not agree, do not use the App. You must be at least 13 to use the App, and if you are under 18 you must have a parent's or guardian's permission.

3. No medical or safety advice

DETOX YOUR DOME DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, SAFETY DETERMINATIONS, OR HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS. Nothing in the App is advice to use or avoid any ingredient or product.

Regulatory classifications vary by jurisdiction and context. An ingredient restricted in one country may be widely permitted in another, and one flagged by a single regulator may be approved by many others. The App shows what regulators have said; it does not tell you what to do.

Always consult a qualified medical professional about health decisions. Do not rely on the App to decide whether a product is safe for your circumstances.

4. Data accuracy and AI-generated content

We make reasonable efforts to keep the App's regulatory data accurate. However:

  • Regulations change, and our database may not always reflect the latest updates.
  • Text recognition used to read ingredient and fabric labels can make mistakes.
  • Ingredient matching is based on names and may miss ingredients or occasionally flag false positives.
  • Scientific findings come from published literature and regulatory assessments and are for information only.
  • Dome Decoded explanations and Research tab answers are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not reviewed by a person before you see them. Check important information against the cited regulatory sources.

We are not liable for decisions you make based on information in the App. You acknowledge that its data and AI-generated content may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

5. Subscriptions and payments

The App offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("Decoded," or Pro) with more features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Billing, refunds, and payment processing are governed by Apple's terms, not ours.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's account settings. We never see your payment details.

If you cancel, you keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds.

6. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or systematically extract our database or App content for any commercial or competitive purpose.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to access our source code or database architecture.
  • Use the App in any way that breaks the law.
  • Misrepresent our data, or present it in a way that implies medical or safety advice.
  • Get around subscription limits or use Pro features without a valid subscription.

7. Intellectual property

All content in the App, including database architecture, design, written content, branding, and compiled regulatory data, belongs to Detox Your Dome LLC. Regulatory data comes from public government sources; our curation, organization, and presentation of it is proprietary. Detox Your Dome™ is a trademark of Detox Your Dome LLC.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DETOX YOUR DOME LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR ANY SUBSCRIPTION IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

10. Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute, please contact us first at app@detoxyourdome.com. We will try to resolve it informally.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration in Massachusetts under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules. You waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you in the App and ask you to accept the updated Terms before you continue. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use the App after minor updates means you accept them.

12. Termination

We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms, for example by scraping our database, reverse engineering the App, or misusing the service. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing app@detoxyourdome.com.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
